Someone tied down the pilot lite on gas valve so the pilot stays lit. This was done to fool the home inspector. This will never work. The gas valve will not turn on at this point only the pilot will. This has to be dangerous too. Flame , old valve , no cut off, bypassed safety switch . DO NOT DO THIS BOOM

There are a lot of things that can go bad in a gas furnace. This one will not light. The ignitor was good. I had to trace 24v back through the system to find out which switch was not doing its job. Resolved this problem by fixing the pressure switch. Without 24v from the switch the next step of power  to the gas valve will not happen. You need a service technician to find the problem.
